Beating Your Competition – Episode #96

by Richard Wilson on August 4, 2011

The following video is borrowed from our BusinessTraining.com platform and was originally recorded for our sales training program.  When I say that I am going to help you “beat your competition into the ground” I know that it sounds a bit intense, but honestly, that is the goal for many sales professionals: to beat your competition.  In this video, I give you some ideas and strategies for beating your competition.

Video Transcript/Summary: The strategies and tips provided within this video module include:

  1. Beating your competition is the goal, once you understand that you are competing with others you will understand the need to become #1 in your space.
  2. Have a very well-defined customer avatar and focus your marketing like a laser on that avatar.
  3. Have goals–both short term, mid term and long term.
  4. Be so creative that you annoy your competitors.
  5. Focus on constant improvement, every day.
  6. Do a lot of competitive analysis.  Know your competitors and beat them.
  7. Incorporate speed of implementation.
  8. Develop at least five lead channels that consistently bring you new business every day.
  9. Develop sales funnels so that someone can get to know your business at any level.
  10. Practice perspectiving so that you understand your customer avatar very well.
  11. Form a business mastermind group.
  12. Practice writing and speaking every single day.
  13. Gain as much specialized knowledge as you can within your niche.

I hope that this list of  ideas will inspire you to think of new ways to improve your sales and business management.  I know that for me it helped to make a list of ways that I could improve my sales techniques and to work on implementing those strategies every day.

Thanks for joining us, and I will see you again soon,
