Personal Improvement for Sales – Episode #104

by Richard Wilson on August 6, 2011

The following video is borrowed from our BusinessTraining.com platform and was originally recorded for our sales training program.   Personal improvement and self-help books are often derided as hokey or not valuable.  I believe that is completely untrue; it takes a high level of self-efficacy to take the time to read self-improvement books and dedicate yourself to improving in your performance in all areas of your life.  In this video, I explain how personal improvement is an important part of selling well.

Video Transcript/Summary: The strategies and tips provided within this video module include:

  1. Studying self-improvement can help you become more effective as a sales professional.
  2. If you work on improving yourself over time you will be able to improve others and add value in their lives.
  3. One of the most valuable niches of your client list is probably the most successful people and they are very likely to have worked at improving themselves so you will have something to relate to them if you have studied personal improvement.
  4. There are many benefits to working on personal improvement such as increased productivity, increased compensation and making better, more beneficial relationships.
  5. Whenever you are trying to resolve an objection, you should end your conversation with an action step.

By studying self-improvement you can become a better sales person and get more from your work and life.  I hope that these tips help give you permission to study personal improvement and eventually help you sell better.

Thanks for joining us, and I will see you again soon,
