The following video is borrowed from our platform and was originally recorded for our public relations training program.   The psychological principle of reciprocation can be a useful tool for public relations.  In this video, you will see how you can use reciprocation in your public relations.

Video Transcript/SummaryThe strategies and tips provided within this video module include:

  1.  Reciprocation is a psychological principle that shows that if you give someone something they will want to give you something in return.
  2. As a PR professional you can apply this in your media relations.
  3. Send helpful information, research or statistics on a relevant area to reporters and editors for the media publication that you want to be featured in.
  4. Offer to give an interview or help out with a story at any time.
  5. Be very concise and available to media professionals.
  6. Get the word out to blogs by sending the blogger something professional by express mail that includes a one pager and even a gift.
  7. Look at the audience that you are trying to reach and apply your public relations offerings to that audience.
Reciprocation is a great way to boost your effectiveness as a public relations professional or in your business.
