Sales Career Mistakes – Episode #105

by Richard Wilson on August 6, 2011

The following video is borrowed from our BusinessTraining.com platform and was originally recorded for our sales training program.   In this video, I explain some of the top sales career mistakes and how you can avoid them.

Video Transcript/Summary: The strategies and tips provided within this video module include:

  1. No specialization.  You need to specialize in your niche and be very knowledgeable in your industry.
  2. Do not like a meritocratic compensation structure.  Sales is based on merit and performance and you need to be results-driven.
  3. No self-improvement focus.  Self-improvement is a very important aspect of selling.
  4. No positive attitude.
  5. Writing off training books in your industry as a waste of time.  You need to work hard to get better and training books are an important way to do this.
  6. No ownership of success.  You need to drive your energy toward achieving your goals and work hard through all possible ways to do this.

I hope that these tips help you avoid common sales career mistakes and that you have a more successful sales career as a result.

Thanks for joining us, and I will see you again soon,
